Time for tea: flapjacks

Sometimes all you need is something sweet, sticky and delicious to get you through the day… equally, something to get you through a summer pick-nick in the park! Either way a flapjack is the perfect option!

This recipe could also be put into the ‘stupidly simple’ category, because it is INSANELY easy!

I sometimes pop some raisins in mine, but if you don’t like them then nuts are also great. Or plain.

Ingredients:

  • 125g butter
  • 90g golden syrup
  • 90g of a muscovado sugar
  • 250g rolled oats
  • Optional: handful of raisins, nuts etc

You will also need a shallow tin/tray and to pre-heat your oven to 180C.

Start by melting the butter, syrup and sugar in a pan.

Then, mix in the oats, and what ever else you want to have in your flapjack.

Spoon the mix into your pan and smooth over the top. Then pop it in the oven for 30 minutes.

The only part of this process that you need to be careful about is to cut up the flapjack before it is cooled. After it has come out of the oven, wait about 5 minutes, then slice away! 🙂

It really is that simple! These are perfect comfort food, or pick-nick snacks! Therefore, I recommend a flask of tea to go 😉
